Ortak are bases in the Orkney Islands off the north coast of Scotland. Steeped in history, rugged and mysterious, the islands embody a fascination blend of norse and Scottish cultures. Based in the islands' capital - the Royal and Ancient Burgh of Kirkwall - Ortak produce beautiful jewelry which is sold and admired worldwide.

The design and creation of these pieces of jewelry have been inspired by the drawings, architecture and interiors of Charles Rennie Mackintosh who was a prolific and creative innovator in the distinctive 'Glasgow Style' of Art Nouveau which evolved at the hands of a new generation of young Scottish designers at the turn of the 19thC.
